IT WAS OVER 40 YEARS AGO THAT JOE, TIM & BECKY STARTED OUT WITH A BOX OF EGGS, SELLING DOOR TO DOOR. IT WASN’T LONG BEFORE THEY SOON TURNED THE LOCAL EGG ROUND INTO A WHOLESALE BACON BUSINESS. WITH THE SUPPORT OF THEIR PARENTS, THE COTTAGE INDUSTRY BEGAN TO GROW.
Over the next few years the Cornes’ became bona fide bacon buffs, continually growing in reputation and consciously investing in the business.
After nearly 25 years the family partnered with CPC Foods and family-run international food company Tönnies, which enabled Becketts to continue advancing and enhancing its product range.
In 2011, the late Carsten Jakobsen, a leading figure in the global meat industry, joined the business as Chairman, helping to guide Becketts to the next stage in its development. Today the business continues to thrive providing employment for its dedicated team and high-quality products for its growing customer base.
